Cape Town South spans two coastlines and the Table Mountain National Park.
The area is home to some of Cape Town's best attractions, beaches, restaurants and places to stay.
Some of the favourite attractions include Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Table Mountain National Park, Cape Point, Boulders Beach Penguins, Whales from May to September and fantastic beaches and watersports.
Shopping enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice. There are numerous shopping centres including the fashionable Cavendish Square as well as a great selection of trendy and creative art and craft shops especially in the coastal villages including Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Kommetjie.
The Constantia Wine Route boasts the oldest wine estate in South Africa, Groot Constantia, and some of the most incredible wines in the country. All farms are open to visitors and tastings.
Cape Town South is home to two famous sport stadiums, the Newlands Rugby Stadium and Newlands Cricket Grounds. There are also a host of excellent golf courses.
There is an excellent choice of restaurants, some where you feel the spray of the sea as it crashes on the rocks, others where you can watch the fishing boats in the harbour. Others offer views of the vineyards, mountains and fabulous fynbos floral kingdom.
Watersports, especially surfing, sailing and fishing are popular. You can even dive with the Great White Sharks in False Bay, kayack with the penguins at Boulders Beach or just relax on one of the many white sand beaches.
Suburbs in this area include the leafy residential areas of Mowbray, Rondebosch, Newlands, Claremont, Kenilworth, Landsdowne, Wynberg, Constantia and Tokai. Seaside villages of Muizenberg, Zeekoeivlei, St James, Kalk Bay, Clovelly, Fish Hoek, Simon's Town, Scarbourough, Kommetjie and Noordhoek. Don't miss out on a visit to the Cape Flats suburbs of Athlone, Grassy Park, Gugulethu and Mitchell's Plain.
