Set 2 025m above sea level in the Mpumalanga Highveld, Belfast was named by John O'Neill, on whose farm it originated in 1890, after his grandfarther's birthplace in Northern Ireland. The Belfast district is high lying, wellwatered and has a crisp, healthy climate ideal for sheep and dairy farming.
